She danced competitively for more than 10 years prior to making her debut on social media in 2019, when she began uploading dance videos on video-sharing site TikTok. In March 2020 she became the most loved creator on TikTok. Khaby Lame surpassed her in July 2022. The debut of D'Amelio's voice came with the animation of 2020 StarDog TurboCat. Since 2021, she has been a participant in the Hulu Docuseries: The D'Amelio as well as Snap Original Charli vs. Dixie. D'Amelio has been a popular performer in 2022. She also was crowned the winner of Dancing with the Stars thirty-first season with Mark Ballas. A book, two shows nail polish, mattresses and makeup, clothing, and multi-product brands are among the other businesses she has launched. She was the first who has at least 50 million and 100 million followers on TikTok. Forbes reports that D'Amelio is the most-paid female TikTok personality of between 2019 and 2022. TikTok is often described by D'Amelio as its most popular star.
